Shabbos reference

ECF chart for use on Shabbos.

A printable lookup table for figuring carbs in fruit when a digital scale or calculator can't be used. Built for Tu B'Shevat falling on Shabbos, but usable any time.

How to use this chart

  1. Find the row in the left column matching the ECF of your fruit.
  2. Find the column in the top row matching the weight of your fruit (in grams).
  3. Where the row and column meet is the carb count for that serving.
  4. If your fruit weighs an in-between amount (say 23 g), look up 20 and then 3 separately and add them.
  5. Use paper clips on the tracking strip on the right to keep a running total of carbs consumed.

To learn how to use the ECF method, refer to our "Going ForWarD" Winter 5763 publication. On Shabbos, a precise non-digital scale may be used.
